What are the Pros and Cons of Cervical Cancer Vaccination???

Additional (theoretical) pros: No abnormal Paps, no subsequent conizations, no down-the-line cervical incompetency issues, thus no increased risk of miscarrying.

Also -- when I was in medical school, I took care of a 20year old woman with extensive cervical cancer that had been blocking urinary drainage. She actually had kidney failure from profound bladder outlet obstruction. Freak incidence, but totally avoidable with the vaccine.

Pros:
1.Immunized against the HPV virus that causes most (but not all) cervical cancer and genital warts. Also immunized against some forms of anal and penile cancer in men.
Cons:
1.Pain at the site and possibly a mild allergic reaction.
2.Price, it can be expensive in the US for people with no insurance or insurance that doesn't support it's use.

Bottom line:It's a vaccine that prevents cancer. If cost isn't a big issue, all young women should get this vaccine.

DIM, Diindolemethane has shown to be effective in preventing and treating female oestrogen related cancers, including cervical cancer. It is a supplement derived from cruciferous vegetables, look at the studies and findings hope this helps

I wouldn't get it because it is too new. I have heard of several new treatments and drugs causing harm to humans. I let somebody else be the human guinea pig.
