Cervical cancer jab im scared!!!? |
i am terrified of needles no no one nows my blood type coz i refused to have it done. but i now how important this is what should i do to be less scared I would be more scared if I had cancer. Think about it, and go for the injection. I am terrified of needles also and the best way to get through it is to take deep breaths to calm you down and focus on a good image in your head . Trust me it does work and it will be over before you realise it . I have to have blood tests every month as I had thyroid cancer and I still get scared before each test and it has been 10 years . But by visualising on something nice helps me a lot. I have given the same advice to my daughter who is due to have the jab as well and she is scared as well . Do breathing exercises....breathe in for 5secs, hold it for 5 secs and breathe out slowly for 5 secs. This is quite calming and can reduce your heart rate making you feel less panicked, drink water as nerves will give you a dry mouth so the less associated symptoms of panic the better. Put an elastic band around your wrist and everytime you think bad things about needles, ping it to remind you to forget about it and think about something else....the pain from the ping of the band will probably be worse than the actual needle anyway. And of course close your eyes whilst your having it done......just think, it takes about 2 seconds and will reduce your risk of getting cervical cancer for your lifetime. I rather have this vaccine rather having the cervical cancer. Well you should be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put it this way. I would have much rather been pricked with a needle to prevent cervical cancer than have the needle they did use to give me a shot to numb me because i had cervical caner. Just close your eyes and hold your breath. Its over in no time I had mine done at the doctor's today (I'm 17) and I hate needles, but it's over and done with in only a few seconds, and you'll survive! They don't need to know your blood type, I don't know mine either. Just think, imagine the pain of a 5 second injection then a course of chemotherapy, and surgery, this will save your life hun. Ask if a friend can be with you, that way they can talk to you and perhaps hold your hand. Am sure they will allow a friend with you. Honestly dont be scared, if there is 2 people there one would be there to comfort you. just talk to them or look somewhere else. close your eyes, count to 10, hug a teddy bear or something. lol. but seriously if you just be brave it'll all be over before you know it ;) close yoiur eyes its betta put it this way, would you rather have cancer in later life or the jab now |
