Cervical Cancer Jab Help Needed!?

Great. Because it's aimed at year 8's I might be having it in school and I am 100% terrified of injections and I think I might end up showing myself up so what can I do to stop myself from worrying and getting freaked out when I see the needle?

The only thing you need to say to yourself is that the minuscule prick of a needle is better than the pain and sheer misery of cervical cancer.

There have been so many questions posted in the last month with regards to gardasil or the injection itself; a fear of needles is a common, yet unjustified fear. There is a limitation to how much an injection can actually hurt. Just be brave and think of the benefits. It's all over very quickly!

you're lucky you're getting it! i'm in year 11 and from what i can gather it's just years 8s getting it and others have to go to the doctors? i might be wrong, but anyway... don't look at the needle and remember it's completely worth it because who wants cervical cancer?!

1. Take deep breaths
2. Don't look at the needle
3. Imagine yourself somewhere you would really like to be, doing whatever it is you would like to be doing.

It will be over in seconds and you will be protected from a terrible disease.

you can look completely the other way
or you can speak to your mum and you could get your family doctor to do it instead, so its not in front of everyone.
hope it helps x

Getting the jab itself doesn't hurt at all.
My little sister got it recently. She said it didn't hurt at all. But afterwards her arm swelled up a bit and she was very tired =\

Relax take deep breaths and breath out slowly
