Sexual Partners and Cervical Cancer?

If a woman as fewer than five sexual partners during the course of her entire life, what are her odds of developing cervical cancer?
What bout thirty plus partners?
Approximations and guesstimates are ok.

well I've heard that 100% of cervical cancer is caused by the HPV virus, which is a STD...
pap smears are great, but there are no guarantees.

The most important risk factor for cervical cancer is infection by a human papilloma virus (HPV). Doctors believe that women must be infected by HPV before they develop cervical cancer. HPV is sexually transmitted (Many women become infected with HPV, but few will ever develop cervical cancer.)

Women who have a lot of different sex partners or women who start having sex young are more likely to get cervical cancer. But this is only true because the more men you have sex with and the earlier you start having sex, the more likely you are to pick up an infection with a high risk (cancer causing) human papilloma virus (HPV).

It is not true that all women who get cervical cancer have it because they slept around. You can sleep with one man and still get the virus if he had it. If he's had lots of partners, that increases your risk because it exposes you to possible infections from lots of other people.

There is a vaccine now against the strains of HPV that are most likely to cause cancer.

Your chances of getting Cervical cancer increases with the amount of partners you sleep with , its not about genetics!
When your talking about about increased STD's and HPV etc ...dont forget for every man you sleep with, you are also sleeping with all the partners he has slept with too!
So really you cannot make an estimate.....if you sleep with men whom have made you their only partner, your chances of not getting CC is very good.

Cervical cancer is not really related to how many different sex partners you have had.
It is more genetics than anything else.
You just need to keep up with your regular check-ups with your GYN.

how would anyone here know?

I think you can research it on the net. Google it
