I might have cervical cancer and im only 20 how is that possible? You could have High Risk HPV (only your doctor can tell you this) which would make you more susceptible to getting it. Your family history may have this running through it. As long as you are catching it early and keeping up on your tests and follow-ups you have an excellent chance to get through this just fine. It is rare for a girl under the age of 25 to develop Cervical Cancer, but it is possible. In almost all cases, C of the Cervix is cause by HPV (although not always). There have been many articles in the press recently, about young women developing cervical cancer, which is why the government needs to change it's ruling on only offering women smear tests once they reach 25 (in England) 20 in Scotland. This is the clear problem with politicians who think they know more than Drs. mutations (cancer) can happen to anyone at any given time. Anything is possible. Age is not a factor on whether or not you can get it, although more people in certain age ranges do get it. you have a cervix, so it's possible. I had a friend who had cervical cancer at 19 and had to get a full hysterectomy. Age isn't a variable when it comes to cancer. Some cancers occur more often in older age groups, but that doesn't mean younger people are immune to it. cancer knows no age...how do you explain babies with cancer lets hope you don't, my little sister had lymphoma at 19 |

The immunisation has started in year eight to catch the maximum number of girls possible before they are exposed to the HP Virus, which is spread by sexual contact and also increases the likelihood...
