About HPV & CERVICAL CANCER (help please :(? |
I've been told I had HPV last year but should not worry too much since I'm only 21, and that it is a very common virus. If you already have HPV Gardasil is not going to change that. Back pain is so nonspecific it could be anything. If you had a clear pap smear in the last year it is not likely for cervical cancer to have progressed to the point of causing back pain now. Another common trait of cervical cancer is unusual bleeding (not in the time of you period) vaginal discharge, swelling of the cervix, and cankers in the vagina. I'm 19 years old, and am currently being screened for cervical cancer, so I know where you are coming from. However, back pain was not the first sign. Rate your pain out of 10. 1 being the minimal and 10 being the worst you could possibly imagine. I wouldn't worry so much about your back pain, but would highly reccomend that you see a doctor ASAP regardless of your location. YOU COME FIRST. No matter where you are living, no matter what kind of circumstance your in, think about your own health here. My sister who is five years my senior ignored rashes on her chest and bumps in her neck for a year and a half, and when she finally got around to getting it looked at, it was stage 2 hodgkins lymphoma. After having come back twice, I'm happy to say that she is alive and well today. But my point is, DONT put it off! you need to get checked out asap... they have a new shot that can prevetn against hpv its called gardasil..ask ur doctor about it... its three doses and should be covered by ur insurance. |
