Cervical Cancer? |
I have recently been told i have grade 3 pre-cancer cells on my cervix. I am having surgery and biopsy in a couple weeks. I have always complained about abnormal bleed, spotting between periods. But my paps have always been normal for 10 years. I just read that abnormal bleeding is a sign of cancer and that it has already spread. Please tell me this information is wrong, and If anyone else is going thru this any info would be GREATLY apprieciated. Thanx I know this is a scary thing to be going thru, hopefully you have people around you as a support system. I know, I too am a survivor of three types of stage three cancer, ovarian, cervical and uterine. I too was 27. My surgury..or surguries I should say, started June 26th, 1983. Soo, I am a 23 year survivor now. Alot of people can tell you all kinds of info..but unless you are experiencing it...its a different thing. Very frightening..but please take heart, as you see, there are others, like me who beat it. They have made great advances since when I had my surguries..I had to keep going back in, cause it had spread to my bladder, urethreas and a stint had to be placed in me and checked on..plus the radiation used in the early 80's they NOW know is dangerous and continues to radiate you..I am living with that; radiation burns internally. Not fun. but...please keep a positive attitude, One of my biggest..issues with cancer and dealing with it is the medical "professionals" who give their patients time lines..little hope..and little time or compassion, but then again, in the 7 years it takes to get that drs license, only part of a day is spent on natural healing and spirituality, which should be used hand in hand with the most modern technics for a cure. I too had the abnormal bleeding, paps were normal, dr at that time told me that "not to worry, take these valium"...thank goodness I found another gyn who listened to me, or I would not be sitting here typing this. Please, please start learning all you can about natural healing, how to change your lifestyle so that you can say I am a survivor, not a victim. I had the hospital want to have this other woman the same age and type and stage cancers as me, as my room mate, but her attitude was " I have cancer, I am going to die". Mine? Mine was " I have cancer???? I dont have time for this! I need to go home!". She died. I highly recommend these books: "eat right, ,live longer" by dr. neil barnard, also Dr. judith orloffs book "intuitive healing", and dr. christine northrups excellent womens healing books; "women's bodies, women's wisdom" and "The wisdom of menopause". These books were real eye openers for me. I wish I had read them, had them available before this happened to me! Dr. andrew weil is an excellent healer as well. All these wonderful true healers offer much insight into what has happened to you, and what you can do to make sure this is ...as little a...set back as possible. " Little setback???" yes. 'Cause, like us, you can beat this and go back to a better, healthier life. I would also suggest reading Louise Tenneys books, especially " Todays Herbal Health" and discover the healing power of nature..instead of chemical/pharmecutical coverups.. with all this information at hand, you will be able to make better choices, and please remember YOU are the one in control..I know back then I felt like a used raggedy anne doll...but watching the other girl lie back and die..I knew there was no way I was going to quit. Still wont...though because back when I had my surguries I was not expected to make it and they tried things they now know were NOT to my advantage...but..I did outlive my doctor...kinda...speaks for itself. Do NOT believe everything you have been told about having it spread, and it sounds like they have caught this in time..just read, study, learn so you are an active part of your own healing...and maybe someday, like me, and others here...you can help someone else who is frightened, feeling like they are the only one in the world going thru such a terrible experience and losing hope, and show them we CAN survive and live long beyond what we were told. Had I believed what I was told, I would have been dead 20 some years ago. please, find these books, even your own local library wil;l find them for you..though they are truly books you dont want to have to read thru fast and return, they are books you will want to go over, re-read, especially the herbal books..and in that area, the more you read, the more YOU are in control of your own health. Best wishes..and please, I know its frightening..but find a way to get laughter into your life..rent movies that make you smile..play music that makes your feet tap..life is precious, and like attracts like; positive brings positive, negative brings negative..and who wants that..this world is crazy enough!! Take control of your healing...honest..you can!!! Source(s): Herbalist, 23 year third stage, three types of cancer; SURVIVOR! Actually, abnormal bleeding is a sign of cancer of the cervix and endometrium. However, it does not mean that it has spread or metastasized. And if you have Grade 3 carcinoma in situ, then I suggest looking up the disease online to see what you face long term. I don't know all of the facts, such as how old you are, etc.. but some risk factors include that of HPV. U got test correct time. So it`s not spread. Cervical cancer is a malignancy of the cervix. Worldwide, it is the second most common cancer of women. It may present with vaginal bleeding but symptoms may be absent until the cancer is in advanced stages, which has made cervical cancer the focus of intense screening efforts utilizing the Pap smear. Most scientific studies have found that human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is responsible for >90% of the cases of cervical cancer. There are 7 most common types of HPV - 16, 18, 31, 33, 42, 52 and 58.[1] Types 16 and 18 being the most common cause of the cancer. Treatment is with surgery (including local exicision) in early stages and chemotherapy and radiotherapy in advanced stages of the disease. An effective vaccine for the two most common strains of HPV has recently been licenced please go to the site for the rest of the information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cervical_ca... I had pre-cancer cells on my cervix 12 years ago at my post-natal pap. My dr told me that on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being cervical cancer, my biopsy results came back as a 9.5. The abnormalities were not deep and a procedure called a LEEP removed all of the bad cells. I have not had one bad pap since and went on to have my second child 5 months ago. Mine was caused by HPV. |
