Cervical cancer ? |
i know someone who just got diagnosed with it. how did she get it and is there any way to get rid of it without her having to lose her hair and go through alot of pain Registered Nurse here; First let me say you are truly a good friend to be trying to find more information about your friends condition. As a rule with Cervical Cancer, usually one doesn't have to have chemotherapy or radiation. If the cancer is contained, laser surgery could be all that is needed. If advanced to the uterus, a hysterectomy-which is still considered major surgery, but the vast majority of time very successful. One is extremely sore after this surgery and has a pretty rough time for a week or a little longer. Now I have no Ideal what stage of cervical cancer your friend has. But it begins with Stage 1 and goes through Stage 4, with each stage cancer is more advanced. I pray your friend has been diagnosed very early. As for what causes cervical cancer, several factors come into play not one single issue. Causes of cervical cancer can began from genetics, to STD's, especially undiagnosed HPV. Also multiple sex partners, and still increases with multiple sex partners with uncircumcised male. Not in any way do I mean to imply your friend has had multiple sex partners, this is one of the causes. ON the other hand, I have seen many women diagnosed with cervical cancer that fit none of the statistics, genetics do play a strong role. Stop stressing. Cervical cancer is curable. A procedure called a conization is performed under local anesthesia. Especially if it's diagnosed early. If we knew how to get it we wouldn't get it. Cancer can happen to anyone anytime anywhere. I had cervical cancer over 30 years ago. The hardest part of the whole thing was just hearing the doctor tell me I had it. Everything else was a piece of cake. Cervical cancer is caused by the HPV (human pappilloma virus) . HPV is sexually transmitted: however, it can lie dormant in one's body for years before mutating (if ever) into cancerous cells. There are several forms of HPV including genital warts and it is estimated that 80% of the sexually active population carries at least one, if not more of the viruses. Her treatment will depend on what stage the cervical cancer is rated. One being the least and five being the worst. Only she and her doctor will be able to determine her medical needs. Personally, mine was found at "abnormal, precancerous, almost a One". They were able to do cryo surgery (out patient) on me. Will it be painful -- yes. Will she need chemo and all that -- depends on her stage. What she will have -- ~ Many doctor appointments (I had 20 appointments for exams, biopsies, surgery, after care, follow up exams, etc. in 6 months) + follow up exams every 3 months for 2 years, then exams every 6 months for 2 years, now back to the one a year exam. ~ Pain and discomfort, yes. I took lots of Tylenol. ~ Fear -- "I'm damaged goods -- no one will ever want me" ~ Pain -- sex was the last thing on my mind. My parts had been poked, probed, cut, frozen, etc. It physically hurt to try. ~ Anger -- one doesn't know where it comes from -- personally at the age of 35 I had only been sexually active with 2, yes two, men in my entire life. ~ Financial issues -- how much will insurance cover, lost time off work, medicines, even clothing -- I had to go out and buy several sets of sweats and other loose clothing. I was too sore to wear jeans and a lot of my dressy work clothes. Just be supportive and if you want to learn more just do a search on HPV. Good luck and she's lucky to have a friend who cares -- she gonna need one !!! I work at a health food store and some of my customers swear by two mushrooms called shitake and maitake mushrooms to get rid of cervical cancer.Of course, this is only there opinion, and is not a proven fact. If she decides to try it,go to any Gnc store or on line at www.gnc.com and look for "multi mushroom formula"Make sure that she continues to follow up with her doctor so that she gets the proper care. I had a 2 times cervical cancer. I didn't get any chemotherapy. By the 1 time they give me radiation treatment. This is by everybody different. I can tell you one thing, the surviving changes are good. Tell your friends good luck and I was a patient from MD Anderson Cancer Center, the doctors are good there. EMU OIL GEL CAPS IS THE CURE. |
