Cervical cancer vaccine ?

i am due to get this vaccine at school on friday. someone mentioned it won't work if you've already had sex. is this true ?

if you've already had sex before recieving the vaccine, you are fine. it will protect you from the 4 types of hpv the vaccine is targeted at just as much as the next girl who gets vaccinated. to make sure you don't have hpv, ask your doctor to do the test. it's exactly like a pap, so there's no scary needles and blood.

i'm married, sexually active and i got my hpv vaccine an hour ago. you'll be just fine.

The true object is to get it before you are exposed to the virus, so if you had sex, I'm not sure. Ask the person giving it, they should know.
The vaccine is suppose to help prevent four types of HPV, not all of them, there are over 100 different types. It does not matter that you have had sex, If you were infected with one of the other 96 strains the vaccine will not prevent them. Good Luck!
