If a cervical cancer vaccine takes 5 years to FDA test to be approved & 30 years to know it actually prevents cancer are they safe to use now? I would not try anything until it has been on the market for a long while. Mabe the only exception would be a new drug for a terminal illness, then what have you got to lose? Seems you've answered your own question... If FDA approval is not a reliable assurance of safety then how valuable is it? Also, their 5 year test period is arbitrary; What if they discovered it caused abrupt death in humans after 6 years? Any way you slice it, it's a gamble of sorts. And that goes for any unknown you ingest... Hm. I don't know, but I got my first shot of the vaccine a few weeks ago and I'm due for my second at the end of next month. I sure hope it's safe. So far no side effects... |
