Cervical cancer threat? |
I just got diagnosed with high grade cervical lesions. I'm having a LEEP procedure on Thursday to get them removed. Has anyone else had this problem, did it reoccur, and how long did it take to come back? Yes, I did. It lasted for a few years and then cleared up on it's own. I know it sounds really scary, but these things are usually detected so early now days that they rarely become too serious...the LEEP procedure should take care of it. However, make sure that you take very good care of yoruself. When your immune system is stressed these types of problems tend to get worse. When I had it my doctor suggested that I take a multivitiman, a vitamin B12 liquid, and vitamin E & D. I'm not sure what each of them do, but the general idea was to keep my as healty has possible. Good luck hun! I had a LEEP done 10+ yrs ago. One time procedure, problem did not reoccur. Angela10 gave some good advice. You need to stay as healthy as you can and feed your body with the best nutrition as possible. It is even best if you can eat organic products as much as possible as it reduce the risk of toxins in your system. I know lots of survivors that swear by organic. The other thing is to mentally get past the diagnosis. I was diagnosed with stage 2 adenocarcinoma of the cervix in 2004 and I remain in remission to this date. (post chemo and radiation) I was told my prognosis was good, and I stay strong knowing that fact |
