Can cervical cancer progress to the lymph nodes if left untreated? |
I had an abnormal pap test. Recently descovered that HPV is the causw\e of this desease. I have been surf the internet for definitive information about HPV. Everything gets a little ambigous. HELP yes it can you need to talk this over w/your ob/gyn right away & come up w/some treatments. probably well HPV and cervical cancer are two different things, although there is some notion that HPV can lead to cervical cancer. An abnormal pap smear can be caused by a number of things, not all of which have bad outcomes. So, you really need to talk to your gynecologist for more information. Please don't rely on the Internet for information about this. Cervical cancer may recur locally in the lymph nodes near the cervix, or it may metastasize to distant sites, such as the lung or bones, or it may appear both locally and in distant locations. Ask your doctor for more detailed information about this. You may need to seek treatment, so the problem does not get progressively worse. Please do not put this sort of health issue on the back burner. My hubby lost a testicle due to cancer because he was too afraid to go to the doctor. Had he gone, he could have been treated, and would not have had to undergo continuous rounds of chemotherapy. Take care of yourself! cervical cancer is usually the last stage of HPV. I think that cervical cancer is curable when traeted in time. It's best to talk to your dictor about this issue yes it can. This can NOT be left untreated. Its fatal. Abnormal test doesnt always mean anything is wrong. I have had abnormal pap tests before and it turned out to be nothing. Try not to worry too much. I worried so much when I got mine and it was for nothing. DOnt stress. |
