I have Cervical Cancer and had 2 sessions of chemo. But I still don't understand, will the tumors go away?

I don't understand exactly how chemo works. Will the tumors go away, shrink? Or will they remain but be no longer cancerous?

Your body's normal cells grow and divide in a controlled manner. Cancer cells, however, grow and divide in total chaos鈥攚ithout any control . Chemotherapy works by stopping the growth or multiplication of cancer cells, thereby killing them. Chemotherapy is used to reduce the size of the tumor and to destroy cancer cells wherever they may be.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope all is well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry to here about your cancer what the chemo dose is shrinks the cancer and fights it off hope you get better soon
If the chemo works the tumors will go away. Good luck
Chemotherapy does shrink tumors and kill free cancer cells. A lot of times chemotherapy is given along with radiation treatment which uses x-rays to shrink and destroy tumors.
But the main goal of chemo is to kill all cancer cells using medications. This is done to prevent cancer cells from spreading and to completely kill all cancer cells.
Making the tumors shrink and disappear is what chemo is for.
i know, but you are not going to die, trust me, i had a dream about you, asking me this, and i was telling you that you will live for many years, you are going to see your grand grand children.
This is something that your doctor should really be explaining to you. But yeah, my understanding of it is that it kills off all of the bad cells, and kills off some of the good ones as well, hence the side-effects.
