Endometriosis and cervical cancer run in my family.? |
I have always had horrible cramps. But since I had my son (5 months ago) I am still having horrible cramps, as well as I'm still menstrating. The cramps are debilitating, and I'm not sure if this is normal. Can someone please tell me? If you have always had horrible cramps and they are continuing now, and you have a Hx of Endo in your family, chances are very high that you have had Endo all along. Don't let anyone tell you pregnancy or menopause or hysterectomy or breastfeeding or any other nonsense cures it - there is no absolute cure and anyone stating differently is reciting old wive's tales founded in erroneous information and not good medical science. Anyway - talk to your gyn about doing an exploratory lap to confirm the diagnosis and/or treat whatever else might be causing your symptoms (i.e., adenomyosis, fibroids, cysts, etc.) - once diagnosed you can obtain proper treatment for the underlying cause and hopefully feel better. Make sure you choose a doc who will surgically destroy and remove all disease from all locations during the lap - anyone who will sew you back up with all the disease still present and offer you Lupron or other meds is not worth his or her salt. See www.centerforendo.com to learn about why it is imperative to remove disease, not organs. Excision is best; although hard to come by. Also be sure to stop by http://groups.yahoo.com/group/erc... to chat with others who understand. You're not alone. Good luck and feel better. See also http://www.endocenter.org / http://www.centerforendo.com You need to see your doctor. I have endometriosis and I never bled that long after my kids were born. Anyone, risk factors or not, who is still bleeding five months after delivery needs to seek competent medical attention. Add the pain and cramping and the need is more urgent. This could be related to the endometriosis in part, could be just a hormone imbalance, or could be a life-threatening problem. Please don't delay any longer. you are at risk for both endometriosis and cervical cancer. you should always have regular consults with your gynecologist. cramps especially prolonged cramps are not normal. it may be due to a variety of reasons. have yourself checked asap. My wife had endometriosis like you for many years. Her gynaecology told us that there are some patients recovered after giving birth. We didn't want to have anymore child, so she did 3 laser operation but relapse again. Both of us decided to take the gynaecology's advice to remove her womb 2 years ago(she was 36). Since then, she has been very happy without the womb. I have the same problem. I had my daughter a year ago and bleed for a month. iT Stopped after 3 days and started again. Doc told me nothing wrong. This continued for about 7 months (regular bleeding) I saw 2 different gynae 3 times but they said nothing was wrong. Finally this month, I went to another gynae, as the bleeding was so severe. He checked my bleeding and told me its a lot... so many big clots... which was the result of heavy bleeding. He gave me some medication to take for 3 weeks and antibiotics. It stopped the next day I started the medication. Apparently, it is hormonal. Ask your doc to check your endometrical line to see if its thick apparently those who have a thick endomentrical line tend to bleed more. Otherwise, try hormonal medication after consulting your doc. take care , I know its tiring... I had 4 surgeries for Endometriosis, I had a daughter even before the surgeries!! it got alot worse after she was born, I've always had very painful periods, to were I was in bed for days, but this was so different! I had huge clots, I would bleed when I had a bowel movement it was bad!! I ended having 4 surgeries in 2 yrs. and every time I had a surgery, it was almost Cancer!! It was all in my other organs, I had to have 1500.00 dollar shots every 6 weeks, but that did not work either!! I finally got pregnant again in 1994 and did not know it for about 3 months because the tests were coming back negative!! I lost my son when I was 7 months pregnant, today would be his 12th b-day. I then had a full Hysterectomy, because the Dr.s said that I was going to die if I tried anymore!! Cervical and Ovarian Cancer run in my family also! Please go to the Dr. you know the daughter I was talking about?? I had to give her up for adoption, and I was 23 yrs.old!! I have no children now, well yes I do, I have two wonderful sons I got when I married my husband, 14 and 21. please be safe and go to the Dr. ASAP!!! |
