What is cervical cancer?

i have a friend that has cerviacal cancer but seems to think that it is not deadly i want to know if someone can help me to convince her that it is bad and what can i do?

As mentioned before cervical cancer is the cancer of a cervix, but it really depends at what stage it was diagnosed.

My mother in law passed away last year she had cervical cancer which in her case spread to other parts of the body fairly quickly.

I would advise your friend to take it a little seriously, cancer of any form is dangerous if not treated at an early stage.

If your friend has caught her cancer early, and is receaving treatment there is a very good chance that she will make a full recovery.

My mother in law has a friend whose dying from it, so your friend better do something about it before it's too late.
Cervical cancer is caused by a sexually transmitted diseases. HPV or human papillloma (sure I spelled that wrong) virus, it's genital warts.

It is dangerous because cancer spreads. It won't kill you when it is on your cervix, but when it moves into your blood, brain, lymph nodes. Then you die.

The cancer isn't contagious. The HPV is contagious always, I think even if she has the cancer cells removed from her cervix, the virus stays with her. It doesn't harm men, they just carry it and harm women with it. They get genital warts, but they can have them removed and still spread the virus.

So if she isn't married, has unprotected sex with a guy then he has unprotected sex with someone else, your friend may give another woman cervical cancer.

I have a hard time believing that your friend was diagnosed with cervical cancer and was not told how serious the condition is. She is either lying or misunderstood her doctor.
