A question about cervical cancer?

I know that people have had cervical cancer and never had an abnormal pap. My question is: How do I bring up the fact that I am suspicous of cervical cancer to my doctor without sounding like a drama queen? I have been experiencing alot of the symptoms associated with cervical cancer, and I have most of the risk factors. I have never had an abnormal pap, but I'm worried that if something is wrong, we're wasting time by waiting for one. Does anyone have any good advice? Has anyone ever been faced with this??

You shouldnt beat around the bush with this issue. Cervical cancer is DEADLY... YOU SHOULD BE DRAMATIC!!! Its your life your dealing with. So go to your doctor and tell him your suspicions. Even scheduling a sit down with him to voice your concerns is very normal. YOU are the customer... HE is helping YOU. SO be as up front and blunt as possible. He's surely heard it all before. Good luck
About every three years my pap is abnormal. Then I go through all of the freezing/scraping, etc. routines. Then I'll have normal pap's for another couple of years, then start all over. I'm not sure I know what "symptoms" you could possibly have as there really aren't any. And as far as the "risk factors" - they only include having sex with someone who probably doesn't know he carries the hpv virus(no symptoms for him, either) I think that as long as your pap's are normal, you have no reason for concern, but if it's bothering you so much, why don't you just ask your doctor his/her advice?
Hello,

My answer would be it is your body if you feel you might have it just tell him . Would you rather know now then later .............
dont get overly subjected about cancer. let the doctorr of your choice do the tests and make the decisions. thats what you pay him for.i think everyone thinksthey have one type of cancer or more.focus on what you know and let the medical professionals do their job.a pap smear can come back negative because not enough cells were collected to run the tests.have an optimistic outlook. anyway if cancer is detected in the earliest stages it can be cured.but i really think that the cure is worse than the disease.ive know many who have gone through radiation and chemo and they look bad after a treatment. i wouldnt worry about it until you have something to worry about.
