My ex wife has HPV(cervical cancer)we were married for 4 yrs. am i at risk of cancer? can women pass it to men No HPV is spreadable. The cancer isn't. HPV is NOT cancer. It's genital warts. certain strains of HPV cause cancer. not all of them. I suggest you educate yourself on the subject. http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/stdh... http://www.indiana.edu/~health/hw/hpv.sh... NO - Cancer is not contagious in any any any any way. Ooops - just read the above answers. While Cancer is not contagious in any any any any way - Genital Warts is contagious in the only way that matters. Good luck bro! MEn dont have a cervix so no yes HPV but not cancer Yes you can get HPV and yes it can and does cause cancer in men. There are two drug companies that have a vaccine, but, i don't know if it helps after you are infected. In India, HPV is treated topically with neem and turmeric, wormwood and black walnut, and arbor vitae. Once the "warts" are gone, if you keep up the treatments (you take them internal also) eventually you will "shed" the virus. I don't know exactly how it works, but basically you will not be a carrier anymore. I found the wormwood, black walnut and arbor vitae to work much faster, and have had no recurrances for 2 years now. Plug in HPV to your search engine and do some research. You'll scare anyone that has it!!! Like my GYN scared me!!! I hate her for it. It's a virus. (that's what the "V" stands for). You become a carrier. I hear now with time and a good immune system, it can go away, but *I* still have it. I have a med/high risk strain, I was told. I hear that different strains have different outcomes.. like warts and such, but mine doesn't. I just live with knowing I have it and make sure that my immune system is as high as I can get it. Many men have asked me/assumed that a condom will help for sex. No, it's a virus. Can a condom protect you from the flu? As for the cancer... I don't know much about THAT, but I look at it this way.. that if I keep my immune system up and don't do anything to compromise it in any way and I don't have a family history to help it along.. then I'm good for as long as the fates allow. No you can't get the cancer, but if you had sex with your wife after she caught it then you have become a carrier.. and you don't want to know how to get rid of it. (freezing/burning off is what I hear). Just have yourself checked as a carrier so you don't infect other women. Best of luck. |
