Will I get cervical cancer??? |
Does having a facial flat wart increase my chances of developping cervical warts or cancer? I know that both are HPV's. Are they linked? I've had my facial wart for about 2 years now. Will this affect me? Please help! No, only if you've had HPV spread to your cervix through sexual intercourse (vaginal sex) with a partner with HPV will you have a risk of developing cervical cancer. The HPV strains that causes facial warts are different from the cancerous strains that cause cervical cancer. If you have a wart on your face, it's not going to spread all the way to your cervix and cause cancer. There are MANY different types of HPV and warts. Some are related. The best thing you can do to prevent CC is get your regular pap smears. Also, get your facial wart checked. Biology major and former GYN nurse |
