Are you considering the Cervical Cancer vaccination? |
Whatever your answer may be, why or why not? Here's a link if you don't know anything about it... http://www.webmd.com/content/article/123... It's for females, age 9-26, that hasn't already been infected with cervical cancer, 'caused by many strainds of HPV (Human Papaloma Virus). I've already had it, and two women's health doctors and one pediatrician recommended it, and every other doctor or nurse I spoke to, including my father, thought it was a good idea. I'm 18 years old, I've had two doses, it's been about 4 months since my first dose, and I've had no side-effects so far. I'd get it if I wasn't too old. No, because its a new vaccine and alot can go wrong I would wait a couple years... no but only because i am too old(34) but i think if i was younger i would. I had an abnormal pap smear two years ago but luckily i tested negative for hpv but that still did give me quite a scare I think I'll pass...lol If it had been available back when I was in college, I would have gotten it in a heartbeat, since HPV is the most common STD and affects millions of women every year in the US alone. There are some new vaccines in the works though that will help protect those who have already been exposed. www.advaxis.com |
