Any one ever had Cervical Cancer?

I was diagnoised with Cervical Cancer in May 2005. I have had check ups and re-paps (liquid) every four months since then. My last check up came back abnormal again. My cancer progressed very fast last time, but my doctor asked me to wait until 4 months (September) and go back in and get another pap to see if it comes back negitive too. She told me to take my multi-vitamins and too eat healthy to boost my immune system, also to not have sex unless my husband uses a condom to make sure no protein touches my cervix. If I have cancer again, the next step will be a "simple hysterectomy". I am only 24. Any advice or feelings from any women who might have gone through the same thing? Thank you.

woah! woah! woah! "simple hysterectomy"? Who's your doctor? Frankenstein? Have you had a cervical freeze or LEEP procedure yet? I'm just recovering from cervical cancer myself. It took one year and three procedures but I just had a normal pap smear. Please email me and give me more details...I really think I can help you. My email is murph_ltt@yahoo.com
Not a women. but My son's mother went throught this.. it seems to be very common
KEEP YA HEAD UP GIRL NO I HAVE NOT HAD IT BUT MY OLDER SISTER DOES AND SHE IS ALSO 24 BUT SHE CAN NOT HAVE CHILDREN THERE AER ALOT OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE OUT THERE WITH THIOS YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE JUST CARRY ON AND GOD BLESS YOU
Well, im not a woman, but my mom had cervical cancer and I have worked with patients who've had cervical cancer. Obviously, at 24 you are still able to bear children and most likely still want to. However, if the cancer progresses to a critical state, you will have to get a hysterectomy. It's quick and simple and fairly painless aside from the abdominal pain post-op. I hate to say wait b/c with cancer, waiting is never a good path to go on, but since I dont know anything else about your history, all I could say is to maybe get a second opinion from another Oncologist.
First, I am sorry you have to deal with this. I have never had cervical cancer, but I come from a family who has battled this type of cancer through the years. I agree with you that cervical cancer seems to progress fast, however we should always take into consideration that each case is different. Have the doctors staged you ?

I can only imagine what you are going through now, but I have always been a strong believer in things happening for a reason. I know it sounds simplistic to just say that a hysterectomy at 24 is the solution to everything, as i'm sure it seems like a devastating thing as of now for you, but just keep in mind that your health comes first and you will do whatever it takes to overcome this.

Please ... PLEASE get a second opinion always though. I was diagnosed with Lupus about 3 years ago but it took a team of doctors 2 whole years to discover the Lupus, hence I already had kidney trouble at that point.

I hope that you stay strong, you seem like such a brave person and I admire you for that. If you just need to vent or whatever, please don't hesitate to email me at heatherbutterfly0104@yahoo.com

Good Luck =)
I was diagnosed in 2002 at 29years old, as I didnt have child and ther wanted to preserve my fertility and so I didnt go into menapause at a young age I was lucky enough to be offered a Trachelectomy, where just the cervix and surrounding area and lymph nodes removed, it is a specialist op and a new op and only done in a few places around the world. ask about this asap. DONT WAIT 4 MONTHS, WHAT PLANET IS YOUR DR ON, this needs to be treated asap, go to a different doctor, this is your body and your life, and I think you need something done before it spreads. Please take care, have lots of sleep, eat well, lots of berries and fruit, organic milk is suppose to be good, try yoga or mediation and go for lots of walk and think postive. This is a very hard time, but you will get though it. Good Luck & all the best to you XXX
