Can gonerhhea lead to cervical cancer if not treated?

i have a 22 yr old cousin who told my aunt her doctor said she had cervical cancer and we suspect her boyfriend messed her up and she kept it from us now she will suffer the same fate her mom did at 28

No. Gonerhhea can be treated even by penicilin and it is only an STD. This will not go to the extent of the killer disease CANCER. one of the reasons for getting Cervical Cancer may be this, but i do not give credit to STD/Gonerhhea for Cancer. It is MAINLY becuse of Genital WARTs.

Infection with the common human papillomavirus (HPV) is a cause of approximately 90% of all cervical cancers. There are more than 80 types of HPV. About 30 of these types can be transmitted sexually, including those that cause genital warts (papillomas). About half of the sexually transmitted HPVs are associated with cervical cancer. These "high-risk" HPVs produce a protein that can cause cervical epithelial cells to grow uncontrollably. The virus makes a second protein that interferes with tumor suppressors that are produced by the human immune system. The HPV-16 strain is thought to be a cause of about 50% of cervical cancers.

More than six million women in the United States have persistent HPV infections, for which there are no cure. Nevertheless, most women with HPV do not develop cervical cancer.

Any way she has to get treated though a qualified Oncologist, by necessary biopsy and then the treatments - Surgery Chemo and Radiation etc. because we can not neglect as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA. -

Wish your cousin all the best for speedy recovery from the disease.- Source(s): -
not sure on that at all usually pap smear when menstration is over would be next step and protect yourself
Gonorhhea does not lead to cervical cancer but BPV does.
Gonorrhea does not lead to cervical cancer. It can lead to PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) and infertility. It's unusual for someone so young to have this diagnosis. Cervical CA is almost unheard of in girls 15 and younger and your cousin isn't all that much older. Some of the risk factors for contracting the disease are having an HPV (human papilloma virus) or HIV infection, smoking, age, heredity and race. You may suspect her boyfriend is at fault, but you don't know for sure so don't blame him. This is something that could have resulted from her behavior, not his. However, I am sorry to hear about her diagnosis. I hope it is still at a stage at which it is treatable. I've never heard of "BPV".
I'm a nurse.
