How do you get cervical cancer? can it be detected in a blood test?

just wondering

It is believed now that HPV (the human papilloma virus) is the #1 cause of cervical cancer. HPV is transmitted sexually. There is no specific blood test that detects HPV, it can however, be detected by getting an annual pap smear. In addition to a routine pap smear, your dr. may order a special typing, done from the same pap smear sample that is more specific to HPV. This is why it is so important that you have yearly pap smears, especially if you are sexually active. The CA125 is a blood test that is done if your doc. suspects ovarian cancer, this test does not indicate whether you have HPV. I am a health care professional who has worked in women's health for the last 8 years.
The same way you get any cancer. Go for a pap smear.
It is now believed that HPV causes this. Multiple partners is also considered a factor. A yearly pap exam can catch it early. Get one every year!
it is detected in pap smears. it is caused by abnormal cells on the cervics. it has recently been directly linked to a common std called HPV ( human paploma virus) (spellin?)
Caused by the Human Pappiloma virus. The CA125 blood test will detect it I believe.
cervical cancer just happens. You need not to do anything if you got it you will know as you will bleed when your not supposed to be bleeding. They need to do a pap smear to detect that form of cancer. Nowadays is one of the easiest to fix and therefore it is important that any woman up to the age of 70 has a yearly pap smear.
Cervical cancer can be caused by more than one process, but recently there has been a lot of attention to the fact that HPV, a sexually transmittted disease, can cause it. Because this is preventable with safe sex practices, they are trying to get the word out. It can not be detected in a blood test. You will have to have a PAP smear to check the cells for changes indicating dysplasia.
