Had a colcoscopy for cervical cancer last week.? |
am bad with the bleeding and stomache cramping. its waking me up at night with the pain. have been in touch with my doctor who quite frankly dont think she gives a s**t. i have to have another operation in 3 weeks time as the biospsy confirmed i needed more treatment. its so doing my bloody head in. nobody at my health center seems to be able to give me any advice to at least to try and give me some kind of peace of mind. instead ive been put on sleeping tablets???. am so confused and feel like there is something that they just arnt telling me. can any one give any friendly advice please. am going out of my mind with worry. no nasty sarcastic jokes please, cancer is not funny. That nurse has a terrible attitude problem and you should complain about her conduct..having what you have had in very invasive and you should be getting a lot of support,go to your docotrs today and demand painkillers..beofre this proceedure they should of informed you of the side effects and taken more care of your emontional well-being..for the tension side try "valarian"tables from the chemist..you also ned to talk to a friend or relative and have a good cry sometimes.I remeber i had an "internal"scan when i was expecting my last child..i found it so disturbing i was phyiscaly sick afterwards..and you are going through much more than what i went through. take care dear...here if you wish to talk! Janine. I had a colposcopy many years ago and I remember the after effects well! You need to contact the hospital or clinic that you had it done at and tell them about your problem. It could be that you just need a little reassurance that it's quite normal or they may want to check you out just to be on the safe side. I know it's easy for me to say but don't worry, it will only make matters worse. I know.. been there done that. Send me a message if you want someone to chat to who has been through this. I can't guarantee I have all the answers but I will do what I can to help. Good luck. You have a right to know what is going on with your body, but for some damn reason they want to have you on pins&needles.Thats not right at all! I was looking at my chart one day in the health center&the damn nurse had a FIT! U MUST TALK TO THE DOCTOR FIRST! What the hell was that about? Some of the nurses at these health centers do be having attitudes even when you ask them a simple question like your interrupting them when all they're doing is running their mouths with coworkers. GO TO THEIR BOSS. GET WELL SOON. I'm sorry to hear that I myself use to have bad bleeding problems but mine was an enlarged uterus had to get a hysterectomy, just keep telling them your concerns and hopefully you won't have to go through what I did Good Luck i had a colcoscopy, and know that there were lots of nights that my cramping would overcome my sleeping, i don't understand why they gave you sleeping pills, and not give you something to stop the cramps, when my cramps would quit hurting i could sleep it wasn't that i just could not sleep i just hurt to bad to sleep. sometime of a night i would stand it a hot shower as hot as i could stand it .(shower because they told me not to take any baths cause of infection). anyways the hot shower would help me relax and my cramps would not hurt as bad. i wish you the best of luck. with what you are going through! for advice and support from people who understand what you are going through please take a look at this site http://www.jotrust.co.uk/ I have gone through two colposcopies and have so much support from the wonderful people registered at Jos it's well worth just taking a look even if you dont want to register as a member.Jo's is the leading cervical cancer charity in England and is recogonised by Cancer Research uk and Macmillan. |
