Can woman who've had cervical cancer still have children? |
this is a serious question that i need help with postive feedback is a plus In its earliest stages, the disease is curable by removing or destroying the pre-cancerous or cancerous tissue. This can often be done in various ways without removing the uterus or damaging the cervix so that a woman is still capable of having children. In other cases, a simple removal of the uterus (hysterectomy) is performed, with or without removal of the ovaries. In more advanced disease, a radical hysterectomy may be performed which removes the uterus and much of the surrounding tissues, including internal lymph nodes. In the most extreme surgery, called a pelvic exenteration, all of the organs of the pelvis, including the bladder and rectum, are removed. So, to answer your question: Yes, she can still have children. Source(s): http://adam.about.com/encyclopedia/00089... It should not be an issue - though it depends how invasive your cancer was. If we are talking about something that was cured with a LEEP or culposcopy, then no problem at all. If on the other hand you had to have multiple treatments of radiation or chemo, etc, etc., then speak with your OB/GYN or oncologist, it is a much more complicated question. Good luck. Medical provider NO Im a doctor sure they can if they still have their ovaries and tubes and woman parts |
