What are the signs of cervical cancer?
I'm a nurse.I'm not an expert and don't mean to give medical advice.Cervical cancer is most always detected by a PAP smear done in a MD office by a doctor or registered nurse (advanced practice nurse.) Most of the cervical cancer cases that I have ever heard of were with women who never had exams.A PAP smear is recommended yearly .There are excellent professional cancer sites on the internet that will be of good use to educate and inform one.The NCCN.org is one, this is the National Cancer Comprehensive Network made of several well known cancer research centers. Many oncologists(cancer doctors) refer to this site. Also the American Cancer Society site, and the National Cancer Institute site are very good.Be informed and take charge of your own health issues,it is the best way to prevent or catch early cancer. There are often no signs of cervical cancer except for an irregular pap smear. I'm a cervical cancer survivor, and in my case, I had bleeding between periods (all the time) as well as a constant feeling of fatigue. The only way to tell for sure is to have a colposcopy, a biopsy to find out for sure.
