Has anyone had ovarian or cervical cancer? |
Has anyone had ovarian or cervical cancer? If you did, what were the symptoms, how were you diagnosed, and which road of treatment did you take? My best friend had ovarian cancer a bit over 20 years ago. She tried to lose weight after having a baby. It wasn't all that much, but she couldn't get it off. Then she started to look pregnant again, so she went to the doctor. Most of the weight was in one large cyst. She had a hysterectomy, laparotomy, oral chemo and then was hospitalized for I.V. chemo. The only chemo medication name I remember is cis-platin, but I think there were others. Nothing really helped and she only lived five months after diagnosis. There were no symptoms other than the weight. go to your gyno and get a pap. i had breast cancer does that count or not not that i know of i had leukemia it is a type of cancer I have not. Here are some people who have: www.eyesontheprize.org/ blessings to you Ovarian cancer, stage 3b, diagnosed 11/04. Abnormal pap smear, followed by d&c, then to everything out at which time the diagnosis was made. It is EXTREMELY RARE for signs of ovca to show up on a pap test. 6 monthes of taxol/carboplatin IV and no recurrence yet thank God. In hindsight, I did have constipation which was becoming worse/painful. Turned out I had adhesions from tumor on the bowel and the bowel was slowly being closed, like by a noose. Good luck to you. |
