I am Preganant, and possibly have cervical Cancer, what are the risks for the baby?


I am 12 weeks preganant and I just had a colposcopy done. My Docter is refering me to have a biopsy done. He said that they typically won't do a biopsy on a preganant woman. I'm really scared that I might have cancer, and that it will effect my baby. What are the odds that it will hurt the baby?

Please ask questions to your doctor, do no take chances in getting answers in here because your case is a serious one. Both of your life is at risk in this matter.Have a second opinion, but biopsy can't be done on a pregnant woman because it will have effects on the baby. Okay dont get mad at me for telling you this okay? Honestly babe, you need to ask your doctor, dont ask people on here, I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and wouldnt trust people on here with their information they may lead you in the wrong direction. So please ask your doctor before you belive what anyone says in here okay?

I do not think there is any risk for the baby. The baby is protected. You are the one that could be in danger. Good luck!
I WOULD NOT GET A BIOPSY WHEN THE BABY IS IN U BUT UNTIL AFTER U HAVE THE BABY. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND AFTER I HAD MY DAUGHTER I HAD TO HAVE A BIOPSY THE A DNC WHICH IS A CERVICAL SCRAPING. IT'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. U WILL BE FINE. THAT TYPE OF PROBLEM DOES NOT HARM THE BABY AT ALL. IF U HAVE ANY QUESTIONS MORE JUST ASK YOUR OBGYN AND THEY WIL HELP U OUT WITH ANY ??? OR CONCERNS THAT U HAVE ABOUT THE CANCER. REMEMBER WHEN U R PREGNANT ALOT OF THINGS OCCUR. IT HAPPENED TO ME AND AFTER THE DNC I DON'T HAVE IT ANYMORE. IT WAS B/C OF PREGNANCY AND ALL HORMONES THAT GO WITH IT. EXCAMPLE FOR KIDNEY STONES AS WELL WITH BOTH KIDS WHILE PREGNANT I HAD A KIDNEY STONE BUT AFTER I HAD MY CHILDREN I NEVER GOT THEM AGAIN SAME WITH EXZEMA I NEVER HAD IT IN MY LIFE AND AGAIN B/C OF PREGNANCY I GOT IT ON MY FORE ARMS AND AFTER IT WENT AWAY. SO BE COOL EVERYTHING WILL BE OK.
