im confused?

If it does protect against STDS like HPV , i wanna take one.

what criteria do you have to have in order for your GYN to give you that>? you have to have HPV first?

Can you take this vaccine to prevent the STD HPV?????

HOW DOES IT WORK?

hOW MANY DOSES DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE?

HPV and cervical cancer are closely related. HPV does not CAUSE cervical cancer, but there are a few strains that are called cancer PROMOTERS. These strains contribute to the development of cancer, but alone do not cause it. Other influences such as genetic background and lifestyle can influence the development of cancer.

The HPV vaccine, Gardisil, is 100% effective in preventing 4 different strains of HPV infection. These four strains are the most common strains found when a female has cervical cancer. Because these four strains are such a significant influence on the development of cervical cancer, development of cancer from these strains with the vaccine has so far been demonstrated to be impossible.

There are however 100s of strains of HPV and this number is rising. Not all strains infect the urogenital region. Any warts found on any area of the body is most likely caused by HPV. Not all strains cause warts. Not all strains contribute to cancer development.

The HPV vaccine introduces an HPV-virus-like particle into the body. The particle is a protein shell that would usually contain viral DNA, but in the vaccine it does not. Because the body recognized the structure as foreign, it mounts an immune response which can prevent infection from the actual virus itself.

If you are interested in getting the vaccine yourself, your doctor may recommend it for you depending on your circumstances.

It prevents the STD HPV, the STD that is the number 1 cause of cervical cancer in women!! The STD that an estimated 80% of women will deal with in their lives!!
GARDASIL may not fully protect everyone and does not prevent all types of cervical cancer, so it is important to continue regular cervical cancer screenings.

Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients of GARDASIL should not receive the vaccine. GARDASIL is not for women who are pregnant.

GARDASIL will not treat these diseases and will not protect against diseases caused by other types of HPV.

GARDASIL is given as 3 injections over 6 months and can cause pain, swelling, itching, and redness at the injection site, fever, nausea, and dizziness. Only a doctor or healthcare professional can decide if GARDASIL is right for you or your daughter. Ask about GARDASIL today.

GARDASIL is for girls and women ages 9 to 26. GARDASIL works when given before you have any contact with HPV Types 6, 11, 16, and 18.

If you've already been infected with HPV, you may still benefit from GARDASIL because it is unlikely that you have been infected with all 4 types of the virus covered by the vaccine. Your doctor or healthcare professional can help you understand more.

You DO NOT need to have HPV in order to get the Vaccine.
The Vaccine works best if you have never been exposed to it, but it is recommended women get it to protect against the other strains.
