How much time can pass before I can get cervical cancer? |
How much time can pass before I can get cervical cancer? Cervical cancers are notably slow-growing. Often, it takes YEARS of HPV infection before some kind of cancerous growth develops. True, in some women, the process only takes months, but that's a small group. Instead, if you have HPV with mild cervical dysplasia, it's important to get annual Pap smears to check for any developing abnormalities. Thanks to routine Pap smears, the death rate of cervical cancer patients has plunged significantly. It's EASY to catch cervical cancer early on as long as you keep getting Pap smears. Getting treated early gives you the best chance of survival, if you do have cervical cancer. Source(s): I work for your friendly local health department. I am confused by your question. Are you thinking you will get cervical cancer after a certain length of time? Anyone can get cancer anytime during their lifetime. But there are things you can do, starting TODAY, to help prevent cancer from occurring. Start thinking healthy. If you are eating a lot of processed or fast food, eating a lot of sugary foods, drinking a lot of soda, foods with high fat content, I would almost guarantee you are heading down that road that leads to diabetes, or cancer. Start eating more fruits and vegetables that are deep in color. The more color, the more nutrients. Eat plenty of food with high fiber such as brocolli, oat meal, whole wheat breads and cereals, and protein. Flax seed is extremely high in fiber and lignens. 1-2 tsps. a day added to cereal, smoothies, yogurt, cookies, meat loaf, almost anything. Keeps you regular and helps to lower cholesterol. Drink lots of water. Watching your overall diet, doing moderate excercise using light weights to build muscle mass, and strengthen bones, will do more for you to help prevent any kind of cancer. There are absolutely no guarantees, but by eating a healthier diet, and excercising your chances of preventing cancer are much, much higher. Reading lots of health magazines, especially Prevention. |
