If a women contracts genital warts (HPV) from a man, what are the risks that she could get cervical cancer? Like with any STD, if left untreated, it can lead to greater problems. Some types of HPV can cause cervical cancer and HPV doesn't always have symptoms. The best advice would be to get an HPV test and talk to a doctor about treatment options. Source(s): www.webmd.com A VERY HIGH RISK!! If i was u i would go to a doctor asap it can be deadly I don't know exact statistics, but I was just told by my OB/GYN that most women (depending on the stage of infection) will clear it out on their own. However, if you have a compromised immune system, or if the virus is beyond the middle stage, then the chances are much greater. I don't think there is any correlation between the two. hpv is the #1 cause of cervical cancer if left untreated. you can be a carrier and never have an inflammatory stage. you should have a PAP smear once a year, if exposed and if it comes back with abnormal cells, and of course, always use a condom! HVP is asscociated with cervical cancer. See an OB/Gyn for treatment options and have regular follow up! |
