Chiropractic School Question?

Are there any Chiropractors, Students, or Alum that can give me a little insight into Chiropractic School?

I just graduated with a philosophy degree, but my heart is in chiropractic care, so I am beginning my pre-req science courses and beginning to apply to Chiro school.

I have looked at National, Northwestern, and Logan. All seem to be great schools. Logan actually offers a simultaneos M.S./D.C. degree (M.S. in sports injury rehab). Does anyone know more about these schools or have an opinion about them?
Are there other schools that come recommended?

From what I hear chiros are struggling due to stagnant or declining reimbursements. This means your pay is going to be low. Look at these websites :

I know it is not all about money but it is so very important when it comes to not being able to pay your student loans once you graduate4. Chiropractors have the largest amount of defaulted loans of all professions...look

and this is from the U.S. government. Here do an experiment...Look online, look in newspapers and try to find a chiropractic job. You almost will not find any. Then look at the newspapers or the internet and see how many jobs are available for nurses, physician assistants, pharmacist, medical doctors...everyone except chiropractors. There are very few chiro jobs out there and the practice owners feel that they can pay you 30-40K/year because there are way more graduates than jobs availabnnle. but if you have alot of student loans you simply can not survive like that. It is not worth it to go that many years for school and get into that much debt knowing that there are no jobs available. Plus think about it, when something is in demand in health care, usually the government or other health entities offer scholarships in return for work. No chiropractor has offered or can afford to offer to pay your student loan in exchaneg for working for him or her. Nurses and doctors and physical therapist get tuition reimbursements and sign on bonuses. chiropractors can't afford to offer anyone a sign on bonus.

Don't let money stand in your way. I'm at AECC (UK) with no pre-required science course. Straight from school, 4year course (拢12,000=$24,000). You can set up a clinic, but there are loads of chiros in USA so why not travel?

Matt- I hope you still check this and read it. I have no idea what the butterfly girl's background is in relation to this topic, but you can own your own practice, you do not a management group, and you don't need to offer sign-on bonuses for your office staff.

11% of the U.S. sees a chiropractor regularly and its growing. So while it may seem that the market is saturated, in reality there are not enough chiropractors for the volume of people that would potentially see a DC!

and I'm a LOGAN student. I did visit other schools and I knew right away that logan was my fit. :) I would be more than happy to share. I have learned so much and I am only a year in. Check it out and visit a few practicing DCs and schools. Report It
