Chiropractic College Question...?

I have recently decided to apply to Chiropractic college...I am 30 yrs old with a degree in Philosophy and have just begun to take my pre-req science courses.

I have read on a few websites that some schools are very very difficult, almost impossible to get through. I realize the sciences are very difficult and am prepared to do my best. However, are there some schools that are more reasonable to complete than others?

Can anyone offer any insight on this?

Perhaps I have a little insight, I graduated top of my class at Northwestern Chiropractic College in MN. Most schools have some sort of reputation. Some good, some not so good. The "joke schools" are Sherman and Life. Stay away from those they are the ones that the students have the worst time passing the 4 parts of the chiropractic boards because they do not learn anything. Other schools are more demanding like the one I graduated from and Western States in OR. Both those schools are very similar and have a very high percentage of first pass on the boards. Also they produce some very competent doctors as a result. Palmer is a good school and is very popular. For the money it costs today to complete the pre-reqs and the entire program you should seek out the best education. Yes it is hard, I have spent many 12 hour days studying but in the long run it is worth it. Good luck.

Hi there, I am about to complete my pre requisites and will start Palmer College in March'08. Which chiropractic college are you interested in? You could arrange a campus visit and see whether the school is to your liking.

I believe that science courses are demanding, but they are definitely not "impossible". Just make sure you attend classes and ask when in doubt. You should be alright.. All the best and cheers.

No, on the contrary, I thought it was ridiculously easy. Sure, some of the neurology classes were a little difficult, but with a lot of studying they are no problem. After the first year, it is pretty much a breeze. At least that is the way it was at Palmer Davenport. From what I understand, National Health
Science University offers the best education. I would put Palmer at not quite the joke Sherman and Life are, but pretty darn close. At least when I went there. Now they have a new physiotherapy building, so maybe they are moving up with the times. One thing, stay away from the frats. Especially the Delta jokers. Those guys are just plain stupid. The other one is just a bunch of jocks.
