Can chiropractic work help alleviate Sciatica? |
I have had sciatica for just over 3 months now, and my doctor just gave me some naproxin and some stretches to do. Stretching seems to relieve the pain sometimes, but I've been told to just expect to have to deal with the pain for good now. Is this true, will I have this pain for the rest of my life? I was wondering if chiropractic work might alleviate the pain. Anyone have any experience with this? I have two friends whom had surgery for this...I really hope I don't have to do that! I am 35 and I would consider my health to be better than ever! I don't want to quit working out due to this pain! Sometimes it helps. It varies for different people. I know people who swear by it. I have sciatica for over 14 years now, when I went to Chiroprator, it made it worse, but I also have herniated disks (5), so that could have something to do with it. Give it a try and see if it works, if does, do it, if it doesn't, then stop get an MRI done, and get referred to a pain management doctor.i have sciatic nerve pain also.i have a bulging disc on my l4-l5 lumbar thats causing it.they put me on neurontin..it blocks the nerve pain..it works for me. |
