Got my BBA now thinking about Chiropractic School...?

I just received my BBA at 25 and am now thinking about switching gears and going to Chiropractic School. I was wondering if anyone has tried this or has any suggestions? I am going to be taking the LSAT soon, but want an enjoyable fall back plan just in case...any ideas?

Chiropractic is a wonderful profession, and a business administration degree isn't quite as much of a gear change as you might think. There are several people in my class with BA degrees, and my college also offers an MBA degree to take cocurrently with the chiropractic degree. As a chiropractor you must run a business, and not only provide patient care.

Seriously consider the college you attend, as there is a great difference between all of the colleges. Different colleges have a more well rounded education, and can set you up to pracitce in any state, but others only meet requirements to practice in a few states (each state has slightly different requirements and laws). Some colleges to consider are Logan University in Chesterfield, MO (suburb of St. Louis), National University in Lombard, IL (suburb of Chicago), Palmer (3 branches Florida, California and the main campus in Davenport, IA) New York Chiropractic College (upstate New York) and Life University (2 branches Marietta, GA and Hayword CA). I attend Logan and we have some of the best faculty, a well-balanced education (meaning we focus as much if not more on evidence-based practice than the philosophy of chiropractic) and the highest pass rates on 3 of 4 parts of National Boards. I can't speak much for the type of education at other colleges, but I know that ours is top notch.

There are certain prerequisites for chiropractic college, but many also have programs where you can take these classes at the college, or at another local university. Again though, it is definately not unheard of to have a business administration degree and attend chiropractic school, but it probably won't help you much until you are actually getting into practice and setting up your business. Good luck in whatever you decide
