Chiropractic..?

Will going to the chiropractor affect the way I think? Since a lot of things happen to people have their back realligned, so is it possible that the way I think is affected?

As a newly licensed DC, we are more medically trained chiropractors and I would have to disagree with an adjustment affecting the way you think. I think that the chiropractic adjustment is a powerful remedy for MOST ailments but affecting the way you think??? Hmmmm thats a little far fetched. Chiropractors role in the healthcare delivery system should be more focused on the musculoskeletal systems (nerves, muscles, and bone problems) and nutritional treatments for chemical imbalances. Can chiropractic help with asthma or lets say depression? I would not be advertising it to the public but I would say that an adjustment can help, but would not be considered a cure for it. There are alot of so called quacks running around in the profession so you must be cautious and ask your Doctor of Chiropractic what type of practitioner he or she is. The old school chiropractors are more philosophy based and the new breed of chiropractors coming out are more medically based so I would personally visit one thats recently out of school to get honest treatment and proper referal if one warrants it. Remember, that there are quacks in every profession, there are a lot of corrupt medical doctors just as chiropractors so do your research and ask lots of questions before getting treatment. When you remove subluxations (mis-alignment of the spinal vertabrae) it is possible for more energy to flow to your brain, thus causing the way that you think to be enhanced. So, my answer is YES!
No, Some new chiroprators beleive that they are health and wellness experts and can even treat depression by adjusting your back. Stay away from them, they are quacks. Go to a old experienced chiropractor who has 30 years or of experience and will correct your back/spine/whatever in two or three visit (instead of 10 or 20) The old guys are cheaper too and they know that job is just to treat the spine, not fleace the customer.
yes, for reasons set out by .............. and also, the possible shock to the body as bones get possibly snapped into place can cause a kind of trauma that takes your brain to new places, not bad, just an awareness.
I almost became a quad thanks to a chiropractor so I would seriously advise xrays, catscan, mri, 'before' he touches you. his mistake could cost you the rest of your life. be careful is all. mine didn't take xrays which would have revealed a second cause of neck pain, no disk pads between vertabrae. not nice. I now, with horrendous odds against me, can walk talk, do anything, but almost did nothing.
I now have 3 fused disks and fearfully await possible further deterioration. good luck.
........ reasons set out by time traveller...............
In a non direct way yes. As a DC student and former employee of a DC I can say that the adjustment will not change the shape or structure of your brain. It will not change the flow of energy, as the action potentials of your nervous system may flow less interrupted but will not change beyond what the body can do if it were subluxated. Now what may change is your outlook on health and wellness. Since Chiropractors practice under a different philosophical model than traditional medical doctors they operate differently, more emphasis on wellness care than MDs. This can impact patients to be more concerned with their wellness care after seeing a Chiropractor.
