air gun technique
I have saw it used on Horses but not people. It is used on horses because of bigger spines and the length of the spine. As for people I am not sure if this is used. The 'air gun' is used with an instrument attached which enables a high velovity, low-amplitude thrust to the spinal or other joint that needs it. It is safely used on ppl all the time. The equipment is used a bit in the US, but hasn't filtered out to the rest of the world in any great way just yet. The size of the person being adjusted (or horse!) has nothing to do with the technique, nor is this technique any stronger or weaker in force or speed than any other technique. One advantage may be that the force delivered is more consistent than with a manual (by hand) adjustment. The technique is safe, and probably quite effective, provided the practitioner knows what they're doing (which is more than likely the case). If you have any concerns, ask the doctor involved, or seek a second opinion. I'm not sure of the actual name of the technique, sorry. A similar concept is applied with a device called an 'Activator'. Search 'activator methods' on the net and see what comes up.
