Degenerative disks - Does chiropractic care help? |
Degenerative disks - Does chiropractic care help? Depends on how bad your disc disease is. It could be helpful or the straw that broke the camel's back. If you have disc disease diagnosed by an MD with an X-ray or MRI, don't consider going to a chiropractor unless you really trust him, he's seen your x-rays or films and he is very gentle with you. I prefer the Activator method of chiropractic care because they don't jerk on you like the chiropractors who do physical manipulations. No it just pushes and shoves and moves around the crushed osteophytes even more to impinge on the nerve root outlets even more. It can't hurt...or I should say it might depending on how bad your degeneration is. A good chiro won't even touch you unless you had an MRI done first. Be careful. Chiropractic care helps reduce the friction cause by pressure from adjoining disks by maintaining as much balance in the alignment as possible. Annual X-Rays can provide the rate of degeneration. This provides information so the doctor can recommend a specialist for therapy or replacements where needed. |
