What do self-employed chiropractors make in salary? Also, what do chiropractic associates make on average? |
Anyone have an idea? I know it varies and looked on salary.com. Does anyone know a chropractor or better yet is a chiropractor who can answer this question for real life experience? I am planning on getting tons of certifications such as accupuncture, neuromusculare treatments, and become a certified chiropractic orthopedist because I am afraid that the money is going to be low and I want to be the most qualified and help the most people I can. There are way too many Chiropractors in the US and Canada. If you are great businessman and you choose the correct location you can still do very well, but it's not easy. If you really want to be a chiropractor you should seriously think of working overseas, in Europe, South America or elsewhere. There you can pretty easily make $100K a year because of the demand. Be adventurous, and there will be thousands of people you can help and who need chiropractic badly! If not, consider being a DO, but you have to have the academic chops to get into medical school (crazy these days what it takes - and these bookworms types usually make crappy doctors!) All the best, don't give up on being a Chiro! Get all the certificates you can. The flakes will come. I am a chiropractor. I don't practice anymore. I practiced for 15 years. Why did I quit? It has gotten so hard to make a living because primarily: 1). chiropractic schools are producing too many graduates & (2). abysmal insurance reimbursements. My advice to you is to not be a chiropractor, but rather be a Doctor of Osteopathy. A D.O. has better insurance reimbursement, can manipulate, & can also prescribe. The chiropractic scope of practice is too narrow & limits what you can do, bill, & get personally paid in cash. Reality. A chiropratic orthopedist wil not get paid anymore than a chiropractor. Don't waste your time. The specialization carries no weight. You are a chiropractor & that is all. Yes, the money is low. There is little to no reward for certifications attached to chiropractic. I would reccomend that you rethink your career path & redirect your efforts. Again, look at a D.O. It gives you a lot more flexibility. I hope this has helped. |
