Have you had Chlamydia..?

Hi,

I had a chlamydia swab test yesterday as part of my pap smear. It was taken because lately I have been suffering Urinary Tract Infection symptoms in the week leading up to my period.
I have had the symptoms on and off for say, the past 2 years and have never considered an STI, just my terrible habit of not drinking enough water.

I am terrified because I have been faithful to the man I plan to marry next month for the 3 years we have been together. And I am 100% confident he has too. This means if Contracted Chlamydia, it would have been with my previous boyfriend with whom I had unprotected sex with once when we were breaking up, and therefore it would have been in my system for THREE YEARS!

If you have suffered Chlamydia, how long do you think you had it before it was discovered?
*And did you really have 'no symptoms'? Or what were they?
*Did you have to tell a close, un-involved loved one about it?
*And have you successfully conceived since?

*Also, Do you know of any alternative methods to help sufferers such as IVF?

Thank you so much for reading my question, I am just so terrified.
Having children has always been THE one certainty and goal in life....

So much so I hope that if the results come back it be cancer rather than this...

My friend had it, it went undectected for around six months until she delveloped a kidney infection. It's left her with permanent kidney damage, and she's only 21. They mentioned it might cause her fertility problems, but obviously she's young and hasn't tried for a baby so she doesn't know if it's a problem or not.

She had to tell the guy she caught it from, and his girlfriend, who was her friend. It ruined their friendship.

It's all GOOD!!! Scary, scary false alarm... :) :) :) Report It
