Question about Chlamydia!? |
Okay so my boyfriend found out he had chlamydia. (He's clean now). I went and got tested and I have it too. When I went for my exam the doctor gave me pills for a bacteria infection (Metronidazole 500mg). Today the doctor told me I tested positive and gave me four pink pills which I took at his office to get rid of chlamydia. My boyfriend went to a different place to get tested and they gave him the same four pink pills but also an anitbiotic, but not the same kind as the one I'm taking for my bacteria. Both of our antibiotics last for 7-10 days. Could it be possible that the pills I'm taking do the same thing as the ones he got just a different brand? I'm just worried it might not go away since I didn't get the same kind of antibiotics.. Am I okay? (I don't know the name of his antibiotics) I didn't post this to get replys about him cheating on me because I know he didn't. He had sex with a girl before we started dating and she had it. He didn't know he had it until he got tested. I told him to go to the doctor because I had mono and I wanted to make sure he didn't have it and thats when he found out. The CDC recomendation for Chlamydia treatment is a gram of Azithromyicin - which is 4 - 250mg pink pills. As far as the other antibiotics, you should be taking Flagyl for BV, and I have no idea what your BF is taking them for. But, since you both got Azithromyicin, the Chlaymdia infection should be cleared up assuming you followed the doctor's advice and abstained from sex during treatment... Yes you will beat this and since you both went to different doctors the meds are different but the effects will be the same doctors have same med to do the job but some are the drug name some are another name can compare to b/fs and they will say the same thing and how it works and side affect both the same. Sounds to me your bf received the stronger dose. Girlfriend ~ chlamydia is an STD AND a very seriously nasty one. Who've you both been hangin' out with? It's time for a reality check with your "loving" relationship. |
