Recurrent Chlamydia?

I was positive to chlamydia a year and a half ago with my partner and were both cured at the same time ( she didnt have symptoms and didnt take tests). Nothing happened after this. Until recently, a year and a half after, ive been re diagnosed positive to chlamydia again. I didnt have any other partner except for her. How can this be explained? Can it be that she has a recurrent chlamydia that infected me again recently (knowing that she has no symptoms). Can it be that when we were treated a year and a half ago, we were not completely cured and that it comes back again now. Or the only reason is that she had another partner?
please help me on this im really confused... she is taking tests now

i actually have a friend who has chlamydia and all the docs she has been to and she has been to alot has told her that she will never be cure of it cause there is no cure they can only give u meds to help fight off the out breaks so more en likly ur partner missed some meds or maybe even urself or ur meds did not catch this outbreak this time it does happen but either way go back to the doc the both of u and both have test and see what they say i hop all is well and u get this taken care of god bless u

ur very welcome Report It

if you were treated before then definitely your infection is a new one and it came from your partner
in fairness with your partner if she did not take the test after the treatment she could have had partial treatment and recurred and re infected you. but if she under went treatment and laboratory exams after treatment and turn out to be negative then she was exposed to another sexual partner aside from you. good luck

REAL SIMPLE JUST GO BACK TO THE DOCTOR THE BOTH OF YOU AND MAKE SURE SHE'S TAKING THE MEDS.... IT'LL BE A WASTE OF TIME IF ONLY ONE OF YOU IS GETTING TREATED WHEN BOTH OF YA'LL GOT IT TAKE CARE BABY AND GOD BLESS YOU OK!!

The only cause for reinfection is that she has had another partner or was maybe infected by a sex toy although a year later the bacteria would have died. Unlike viral infections that can lie dorment( i know i spelled that wrong) in the body baterial infections ie chlamydia is cleared from the body after a antibiotic regimen
