How soon after chlamydia can you have sex again?

O.K so I got diagnosed with chlamydia about a week ago... I'm totally confused... they gave me 4 tablets to take in one go for one day and they said that will clear it but didn't say how long it would take to clear.... the doctor told me not to have sex for 2 weeks but when the nurse was giving me my tablets he asked me what form of contraception do I use? then said double up on condoms for the next week... that makes no sence to me at all! One person is saying to avoid it totally for 2 weeks the other is suggesting for the next week to double up on condoms... any help people? thanks!

2 weeks after both partners have been treated is plenty of time to be sure the infection has cleared.

THE DOCTOR TOLD ME TO NOT HAVE SEX UNTIL 7 DAYS AFTER I TOOK THE 4 PILLS AND YOU ALSO NEED TO WAIT ON YOUR PARTNER TO BE TREATED

Avoid sexual contact completely til both parties have been sucessfully treated. Then use condoms so it will not happen again.

Your best bet is to listen to what the doctor said. To even be more sure of yourself just wait more than 2 weeks.
