Can chlamydia return after treatment?

I got diagnosed with chlamydia a bout a year ago. Both me and my partner got treated. My partner got retested about 6 nmonths after and came out negative. I got retested about 6 months after that and also came out negative. He got chlamydia again a couple of days ago. Could chlamydia just return or was he infected by a diffrent partner?

i would think so...
I hate to tell you this but there is no way that you both got tested and you both came up negative and now he is positive again..I think you know the answer to this question already..One or both of you have had more than 1 partner... or All sex partners should be evaluated, tested, and treated. Persons with chlamydia should abstain from sexual intercourse until they and their sex partners have completed treatment, otherwise re-infection is possible. If you do not abstain from sex untill treatment is finished , you can reinfect your self and your partner. Those are the only 2 options..and did you also know that Chlamydia can be transfered from person to person through vaginal, oral and anal sex..Its not just a vaginal disease.. Treatment of Chlamydia and the sucess rate is 95%..

Only if your partner is still infected, or you mess with someone else with it, yes. It can be spreaded through oral, an**, vaginal sex (unprotected that is). And someone maybe cheating.
he is being unfaithful. have you been tested again? if you were tested after the treatment and found negative he is definately screwing around and unprotected. i think you should get tested for EVERYTHING cause even if you have no symptoms you and him could be spreading disease and not even know it. be very careful and cuss his *** out!!
Chlymydia will NOT return unless a person is re-infected via another occasion of unprotected sex.

Males usually do not have symptoms, which means they often infect others...not realizing they are doing so.

Females will usually become symptomatic...cramping feeling, pains, discharge, etc. If you have any of these, and you were previously treated for it....someone has infected you.

I would NOT trust that guy as far as I could throw my car.
