I had Chlamydia and now i'm stressing that i may never be able to conceive, is there a chance i still can? |
I have no idea how long i had it for, maybe up to 3 years. My periods are still normal and i've never missed a month. Well darl, there is no way of knowing for sure since you don't know how long you have had Chlamydia for. Chlamydia is a condition which can spread to your fallopian tubes and cause scarring which will then make you infertile. Chlamydia also leads to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and if this is the case then you will be at most risk of becoming infertile. If you are severely worried you can request an Ultra Sound to check for any blockages or scarring to your ovaries and fallopian tubes. I was very worried when i contracted Chlamydia as, like you, I didn't know how long I had suffered from it. You have had it treated which is a good step. I'd say if you'd only contracted Chlamydia in the past year or so then your chances of conceiving a child is high and so don't stress too much! Have you ever asked your doctor? your chances of getting pregnate will be 50/50 but if you take care of your self and have regular check ups and paps your doctor can better discuss the possiblity of conceiving one day. this is something that you have to discuss with your doctor sense he/she wouldknow if their are any treatments you may have to take before getting pregnate You can get pregnant after curing the STD. It isn't going to stop you later on in life from having children You really need to see your GYN about this. S/he can help you determine the extent of any damage you might have suffered and discuss your options. Yes, it can make conception difficult, but it's different for every woman. Hopefully you received treatment in time and that it all works out for you. Good luck! if you have chlamdyia, you just see a doctor he gives you some antibiotics and you're done. no big deal. there are some antibiotics you can take that are just a one time dose. then you are cured. it shouldn't have any affect on your reproduction. |
