Antibiotics for chlamydia when tested negetive?

my soon to be ex wife told me last year that i needed to get tested for chlamydia while we were separated. I tested negetive and when i questioned her about it she said that she tested negetive too but wanted to make sure i didnt catch it.(no she wouldnt admit to sleeping around till 2 months ago????) the thing is she said they gave her the antibiotics for it even tho she tested negetive. A friend of mine told me a doctor wouldnt give an antibiotic treatment unless the person needed it do to the fact it kills off helpfull bacteria too. Anyone know if the doctor would treat for it even if she didnt have it or did the wife lie to me, and have the drip??

the truth to the matter is, yes a doctor will give the patient medication to treat it, if your wife told the doctor the truth about having an affair and the person she did it with was tested positive for it, the doctor will treat her as if she had it.. just to get her started on the medication.. it takes about 3 days for test results to come back... so usually a doctor will treat it before the results to be on the safe side.... another way they will treat it is if she was having a discharge of unusual color and odor... and they wasn't quite sure what it could be until the results came back and it could've been a possibility that it was chlamydia.. then they would treat her under those circumstances too... but anytime someone sleeps around unprotected there is always that possibility of contracting something... it's really dangerous.. i'm sure your aware of that.. good luck
she lied. doctors wouldnt prescribe her meds if her lab results didnt react to chlamydia. get yourself retested to make sure that you are clear
Eh...i had chlymidia several years ago and was unsure when i contracted it since i had no symptoms. I told my doctor that my boyfriend had probably been exposed to it so she just gave me an extra prescription for him and told me to have him take it (she made sure i asked if he had any allergies so it was safe)

It wont hurt.
A doctor is not going to give an antibiotic when its not needed, However she could have had an infection of the cervix (not a form of STD) and needed the antibiotic anyway so there is really no way of finding out if she is telling the truth or not.
the good thing is that she is your ex. there is no way a doctor will prescribe an antibiotic for no reason.
