My partner has chlamydia, will I defiantly have it? |
We only see each other a few times a year, the last time was a month ago. Since then he had to be tested & has chlamydia. He has slept with noone other than me in the last month so cant have caught it since we saw each other. Obviously I will get tested as soon as possible but is there any chance of sleeping with an infected person & not catching the disease myself? Chlamydia is notoriously free of signs and symptoms in males. (and often in women too) until it has already caused scar tissue that renders you infertile. It is entirely possible this man could have had chlamydia for years and not have known it. As a woman being the receptive partner you are more likely to contract the infection more readily than if you were the insertive partner...it is simply a matter of time of exposure. I don't know what the chances are of you being uninfected. If you were using condoms then I think there is a great chance that you are not infected. Every time you get a pelvic exam your provider screens you for Chlymdia routinely. He/she would have treated you for it if it was detected. I would venture a guess this is how your friend found out he was infected (from another partner who had a routine screening). I suspect they may not even check you for the infection, rather given the situation they would just empirically treat you with a course of antibiotics. They may however want to screen you for other STD's including HIV, hepatitis B, and/or herpes. I hope this helps. Good luck. There is a chance of not catching it but definatly go and get tested. Chlamydia often shows no signs or symptoms so you might be infected and not know it. Next time use a condom the world doesn't need any more diseases being spread around by careless people! Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease. One of you had to have been messing around to get it. If you haven't been with anyone except him, he's messing around on you. You would have it, get rid of him. Not sure you mean defiantly, perhaps definitely, and yes you may have it so go check in the nearest clinic. Yes, there's always a chance that you won't have it and for your sake I hope that you don't. It's good that your going and getting tested. Good luck to you. chlamydia isn't, but HIV is. you are so into your religion that you don't use birth control, but yet you allow him to completely dishonor your relationship and body by cheating on you?! that makes no sense what so ever. one of you must have been messing around.because chlamydia.is a std disease.you have to have sex.to get it.as far has i know chlamydia.comes from been sexually active. |
