Can you get chlamydia from oral sex with an infected partner? |
Can you get chlamydia from oral sex with an infected partner? You sure can... I work at a STD Clinic in Houston and the answer is Yep. Clients have come in with STD on the roof of thier mouths (ie: Chlamydia, Gonnera). It's less likely though... unless you have an open wound on your genitals or there was fluid transfer (Sloppy BJ) you have better odds. BUT... without any of the previously mentioned situations it is still possible to spead a STD through oral sex... Sorry. Source(s): I work at an STD Clinic. I sure hope not!!!! I believe you can and you can also get chlamydia in your eye yes and it is hell to get out of your mouth, most people have to have their teeth out and heavy duty anti biotics over a long period of time Yes. Causes Of Chlamydia Chlamydia is a bacterial infection of the genitals and anus in men and women. This is a contagious disease. A bacterium chlamydia trachomatis causes chlamydia. Chlamydia is transferred from partner to partner by vaginal, oral, or anal sex. The bacterium is passed when the mucous membrane comes in contact with infected secretion. Oral chlamydia is also reported though it is less frequent than genital chlamydia. Any mucous membrane (membrane that does not have skin) can get infected with the bacteria if it comes in contact with the infected fluid. Young women and teenage girls are more prone to get chlamydia because their cervix is not fully matured. The chances of getting chlamydia increase if a person has multiple sexual partners. An infected mother can pass on chlamydia to her baby. http://www.doctorgoodskin.com/ds/chlamyd... Prevention Of Chlamydia * Use condoms * Stop having multiple partners * Get regular screening done for chlamydia and other STDs. Consult your doctor about frequency of the screening test. * Women should stop douching because it kills good bacteria. http://www.doctorgoodskin.com |
