Can you have chlamydia from the age of 4 and not no about it until you are older like age 19? Is that Possible It would be highly unlikely to get chlamydia at age 4. Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease and can be transmitted vaginally, orally, or anally. So, if the child was sexually abused it would be possible for her/him to contract it. Chlamydia can go undiagnosed for a long time as there are often no symptoms. So, yes, it would be possible. The person in question needs to be tested by a doctor immediately and undergo treatment. Source(s): http://www.cdc.gov/std/chlamydia/stdfact... were you abused at age 4? I think this is more of a MD question, don't you? talk to your doctor, or better yet your OB/Gyn. You would have been in some awful pain & would have had to see a doctor way before age 19. Chlamydia is a sexually trasnmitted disease, so the person would have had to been penetrated at age 4? That's really disturbing. That is very possible... Chlamydia is not always deteted right away and often dont show symptoms until many years later.... once scaring and other health problems have already been in play. Just to touch on the above posters response... you can pass most STD's on to your unborn children if you are not aware you have one and alot of times the child wont show signs of this STD infection until they go into early adulthood.... so you dont have to be molested or penetrated to get this... your mother could have had it and not known about it.... you should have a pap smear and woman well check to rule it out along with all other STD's but it def is possible that you have been hosting it for awhile and are just now feeling the symptoms. This is an STD. Very difficult to diagnose. It believe it takes a titer from a blood sample and the infected person can be asymptomatic. I would surmise, if you are 19, there is no way to know how long it has been there. You can probably guess by correlating it to sexual activity. If it started that young there are other issues for you to deal with and I wish you all the best. If you had Chlamydia in your reproductive tract for that long, your uterus would have been demolished by now. Complicated chlmaydia leads to pelvic inflammatory disease. That causes scars to form in the reproductive tract. The scarring destroys the organs and makes you infertile. PID can be pretty painful. So you wouldn't necessarily notice the Chlamydia, but I'm sure you would have noticed PID. As for newborn babies getting Chlamydia from their mothers, neonatal Chlamydia usually presents as EYE infection, and it's not pleasant. The baby can go blind if not treated. Anyway, OP needs to make sure she gets annual pelvic exams. And I hope she got meds for the infection. |
