I was treated for chlamydia early this year, I was wondering if I can still have kids in my future? Most women who have had and been treated for chlamydia can still have children. Some women who have had it can develop chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and this can cause scarring in the fallopian tubes, which make it more difficult to get pregnant, and increase the woman's chance of a tubal pregnancy. It is very important to tell your doctor about your past infection if you become pregnant so they can monitor more closely for a tubal pregnancy. also, if you have trouble conceiving in the future and it is found to be because of scarred fallopian tubes, there are treatments that can increase your chances of becoming pregnant. Source(s): I am a Health Educator, and I specialize in STD Education. If you were treated relatively soon after infection, it's quite likely that you've had no permanent damage at all. Infertility is possible from scarring and/or PID if the disease was left untreated for a longer period of time. I am not a doctor, you shouldn't entirely rely on my understnding here because of that. A doctor may be able to give you a more specific answer for your particular case. http://health.allrefer.com/health/chlamy... i hope you can but if you had it for to long then no sweetiwe you can't it's a sad thing for a young person to go through |
