Does anyone know what chlamydia discharge looks like?

lately my gf has said her discharge has been a little thicker.. same color white but just thicker... im kinda worried... isnt chlamydia discharge a funky color?? any help??

Deanna just copied and pasted from this website:
http://www.cdc.gov/std/chlamydia/stdfact...

Chlamydia discharge is not a funky color. It can be a range from a clear color to white and even a light color.

It also might not be chlmaydia. It could actually be different kind of infection. Yeast infections are a thicker white color, BV (Bacterial vaginosis), and even "trich" (trichomoniasis). These can sometimes be confused as chlamydia discharge.

It honestly sounds normal to me. If it is really bothering her then she should probably see a doctor.

**Also, kelledidit, is just plain wrong about how many medications are out there to treat chlmaydia. And, men and women can take the same medications, there isn't 2 like she said for men. Amoxicillin, azithromycin, doxycycline, erythromycin, erythromycin ethylsuccinate, levofloxacin, and ofloxacin ALL kill the bacteria. And, both men and women can take any of those.

The discharge is white and thick. Its my understanding that you might have itching as a symptom as well. Please go see a doctor and get tested.
Chlamydia is known as a "silent" disease because about three quarters of infected women and about half of infected men have no symptoms. If symptoms do occur, they usually appear within 1 to 3 weeks after exposure.

In women, the bacteria initially infect the cervix and the urethra (urine canal). Women who have symptoms might have an abnormal vaginal discharge or a burning sensation when urinating. When the infection spreads from the cervix to the fallopian tubes (tubes that carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus), some women still have no signs or symptoms; others have lower abdominal pain, low back pain, nausea, fever, pain during intercourse, or bleeding between menstrual periods. Chlamydial infection of the cervix can spread to the rectum.

Men with signs or symptoms might have a discharge from their penis or a burning sensation when urinating. Men might also have burning and itching around the opening of the penis. Pain and swelling in the testicles are uncommon.

Men or women who have receptive anal intercourse may acquire chlamydial infection in the rectum, which can cause rectal pain, discharge, or bleeding. Chlamydia can also be found in the throats of women and men having oral sex with an infected partner.
You need to go to the doctors it could be chlamydia or it could just be a Yeast Infection either way she need s to be checked and Good luck
Usually just a white, clearish color, Unfortunetly sum order usually accompanies it, It NEEDS to be TREATED right away, Not just by her either, theres only like (2 pills) for the Male to take, Verses like 10-20 for the female. If you do not get treated ,then you will just give it right back to her the next time you two have intercourse, Not just her, anybody you have sex with, you will give it to them too. And a man doesnt have any symptoms!
it looks like cottage cheese
The few women with symptoms might have an abnormal vaginal discharge or a burning sensation when urinating. When the infection spreads from the cervix to the fallopian tubes, some women still have no signs or symptoms; others have lower abdominal pain, low back pain, nausea, fever, pain during intercourse, and bleeding between menstrual periods. Whenever the infection spreads past the cervix into the upper reproductive system, permanent and irreversible damage can occur. its most likely a yeast infection if anything...
